Context

Benin experienced healthy growth for Covid (5.5% of GDP by 2020). The economy is mainly based on transit trade and agriculture. Important in that context to also support young entrepreneurship in different areas.

Purpose

1. Provide young people with the technical skills that employers are looking for.

2. Preparing young people to start their own business in industry-poor areas, among others.

The technical and vocational education provided by VIA Don Bosco and local partners is the most concrete and effective way to instill these skills in young people.

Why OVO believes in this project

Teaching young people technical skills will increase their chances of getting a job and prepare them to start their own business.

Social impact

9000 students during the duration of the program or between 1600 and 1800 students per year (75% boys, 25% girls). Indirectly 10,000 beneficiaries (mainly families and communities).
