Fevia and OVO have been working deliciously together for many years

Published: 08/09/2025

Fevia is the federation of the Belgian food sector, an organisation that defends the interests of more than 4,000 companies from 25 business sectors. These range from breweries, chocolatiers and dairy companies to potato growers and jam makers. Now you know why the word “delicious” is in the title. More importantly, Fevia has been a loyal partner of OVO from the very beginning.

‘This collaboration with OVO dates back to the very foundation of Entrepreneurs for Entrepreneurs,’ says Matchmaking-volunteer Rony Inslegers, who, together with Frans Dieryck, maintains OVO's contacts with Fevia. "Lotus Bakeries, a member of Fevia and known worldwide for its speculoos, was one of the founders of OVO and is still a core member. The Fevia board of directors decided at the time that part of their membership fees should be spent on development projects. This is done through their VIA fund. If a member of Fevia wishes to support one of the NGO projects in OVO's portfolio, the VIA fund increases that contribution by an amount that can be up to 80% of the initial donation. In this way, FEVIA supports five to six OVO projects each year, each receiving a fairly substantial amount of funding. We can also count on the support of other FEVIA members, such as Miko Coffee Services and the Trappist Brewery of Westmalle. The projects supported by the companies are not always directly related to their activities. Lotus, for example, is mainly interested in projects related to training and education, activities that have nothing to do with biscuits or other baked goods. The aim is to further expand the cooperation between the two organisations. Rony Inslegers: ‘Fevia is always willing to introduce OVO to its members so that we can present how our organisation works. The collaboration with the tastiest federation, as they call themselves, can therefore only get better.’
